This project took place in a garage in Dumont, NJ, where we began by grinding the existing floor to ensure proper surface preparation. On the first day, we also installed a moisture vapor barrier to protect the new flooring from potential moisture-related issues and to enhance long-term durability.
On the second day, we applied the base epoxy layer and broadcast the Gravel mix flakes into the coating. This mix features a classic look with a unique color combination, adding style and durability to the garage floor.
On the third day, after the epoxy flake layer had dried, we scraped off the excess material and then applied the topcoat, which provides a high-gloss, protective finish. The seamless nature of this epoxy flake coating system means there are no joints or seams where dirt can accumulate, making the floor easier to clean and maintain.
